šŸŽŸļø Programming for Virtual Production Car Process Ā

Ā (2-Day Class)

TWO-DAY ADVANCED CLASS
Taught by Mark LaPierre
(Coyote vs ACME, Outer Range S2, Honey, Don’t!, Stranger Things S5 – ABQ Block)

🚘 The Challenge:

It’s called Poor Man’s Process—but there’s nothing simple about it.
When you’re newer to car scenes, it’s surprising how many lights—and how much programming—gets thrown your way. This class helps you build a flexible, reliable template so you can deliver under pressure.

🧠 What You’ll Learn:

In this hands-on, two-day class, you’ll learn to create lighting effects for driving scenes used in film and television—from the obvious to the cinematic. You’ll build foundational passes (headlights, taillights), then dive into advanced content like emergency sequences, color chases, and subtle ambient cues.

Bring your own scenarios—this is a collaborative space to build together and troubleshoot real-world problems.

Topics Include:

āœ… Headlights, taillights, and handlebar cues
āœ… Streetlight + billboard passes
āœ… Random color passes (storefronts, sodium, porch lights)
āœ… Police, ambulance, and international emergency light effects
āœ… Ripple chases to simulate cloud movement
āœ… Build-your-own content with live coaching

šŸ’» Console Compatibility:

This course is fully console agnostic, designed around transferable programming concepts.
Whether you're using Eos, MA2, MA3, Hog, Blackout, or another platform, everything taught in this class applies across systems.

šŸ“‹ Who It’s For:

This class is intended for intermediate to advanced programmers with the following experience:

  • Confident patching + universe setup

  • Cue creation + referencing

  • Familiar with your console’s effects engine

If you're already building shows but want to master car process scenes, this class is for you.
